Moshe Safdie balanced the SkyPark across three 55-storey towers, and anyone with a ticket can ride up to its public deck on level 56.

Marina Bay Sands opened in 2010 above a mall, theatres, a casino and a convention centre. Its rooftop infinity pool is for hotel guests only, but the Observation Deck on level 56 of Tower 3 is open to everyone, with a 360-degree view of the skyline. Below lie the bay, the Gardens and the city skyline, on land and water that was open sea fifty years ago.

Tickets are sold in two sessions. Off-peak runs from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm; peak, from 5 pm to 10 pm, costs a little more and catches the late-afternoon light and the city coming alight. The deck may close in heavy rain or lightning. For a drink with the view, CÉ LA VI on level 57 has its own entrance and charge; a deck ticket does not get you in.
