Singapore's third national garden spreads 90 hectares around Jurong Lake, from pagodas and a teahouse to a water playground whose flows mimic the tides.
Jurong Lake Gardens is Singapore's third national garden and its first in the heartlands. Lakeside Garden opened in 2019, and the rejuvenated Chinese and Japanese Gardens, first built in the mid-1970s, reopened on 8 September 2024, completing the gardens. In the Chinese Garden the old Cloud Pagoda, Twin Pagoda, Stoneboat and Bonsai Garden stand beside new features such as Cascading Creek; the Japanese Garden adds a Water Lily Garden, Sunken Garden and Teahouse.
Lakeside is the family end. Clusia Cove is a three-hectare water playground whose flows mimic the tides, and Forest Ramble, at 2.3 hectares the largest nature playgarden in the heartlands, has 13 adventure stations inspired by local wildlife. Rasau Walk follows the lake edge, and the gardens are the western start of the 36 km Coast-to-Coast Trail to Coney Island Park.
