Off the north-east coast at Punggol, Coney Island Park has been left rustic: five themed beaches, an estuary and more than 80 bird species recorded.
Coney Island Park covers 81 hectares at Punggol, in the north-east, and has been kept as a rustic island park rather than a manicured one. Its five themed beaches and estuary draw birdlife, with more than 80 species recorded. There are two entrances, one near Punggol Point at the west end and the other near Lorong Halus Wetland at the east, and the park is open from 7am to 7pm.
The island marks the eastern end of the 36 km Coast-to-Coast Trail, which crosses Singapore from Jurong Lake Gardens via the Lornie Nature Corridor; NParks' free NEAR app helps you walk it in sections. There is no parking on the island, so come by MRT. Wild boars live here: keep clear of them, and do not feed the monkeys.
